What's My IP
Your IP address and the numbers your browser gives away — with no ads, no tracking and nothing written down.
Commercial "what is my IP" pages answer a one-line question and then charge for it in ads, trackers, cookie walls and a log with your address in it. This one answers the question, adds the numbers a developer actually struggles to read off a device, and keeps no record of the visit.
What it shows you
- Your IP address, which protocol you arrived over, and the network that announces it: ASN, organization, BGP prefix and registry.
- The measurements that are awkward to read off a phone: viewport size, real screen size, device pixel ratio, and what a canvas element resolves to.
- A guess at which device that screen belongs to, compared against a list of known models — offered as a possibility, never as an identification.
- A JSON endpoint and a plain-text one, so the same answer works from curl or from a script.
What happens to your data
Nothing is stored. There is no database and no log of who asked. Signing in with your J-Tools account is optional and changes nothing the page shows you — it only lets the bar at the top reach your account and your other tools, and it is the one thing that puts a cookie in your browser.
- This page, requested from this site. Like every web server it sees your address, your user agent and your language preference for as long as it takes to answer — and writes none of it down.
- The J-Tools bar at the top, loaded from id.j-tools.net: a script, a stylesheet, the suite logo and this tool's own name and color. No cookies, no analytics.
- One DNS lookup to Team Cymru, made by this server rather than by your browser, to name the network your address belongs to.
- Nothing from the screen, canvas or device sections. Those are measured in your browser and stay there — the page never posts them anywhere.
- Nothing at all — unless you sign in, which is optional and changes nothing this page shows you. Signing in adds one session cookie so the bar can reach your account and your starred tools. It holds your account id, your language and that list: no email, no name. Signing out removes it again.
- Nothing else at all: no ads, no trackers, no third-party fonts or scripts, no local storage, no request log.
